Skittles Just Released a Brand-New Flavor for a Limited Time Only
Skittles are a classic candy, but Mars — the company that produces the colorful treat — is constantly innovating new flavors (think: berry chews) and exciting textures (like their recent lineup of gummies). With Halloween right around the corner, you’ll want to pay attention to the brand’s latest release if you want to spruce up your trick-or-treating pot or spice up your table spread for your festive party.
On Monday, September 30, Mars plans to debut Skittles Fuego. The new flavor of Skittles contains a deliciously spicy chili-lime coating similar to Tajin, with the standard inside filling of strawberry, lime, grape, lemon, or orange.
Unfortunately, the spicy Skittles won’t be sold on store shelves nationwide. The brand is partnering with GoPuff — a food, drink, and alcohol delivery app — to sell Skittles Fuego exclusively on its platform. A 3.4-ounce bag of Skittles Fuego costs $2.99.
Candy-obsessed shoppers can’t wait to get their hands on a pouch. One account, @candyhunting, posted about the rumored launch days before it happened — and social media users raced to discuss.
One person commented on the post, saying, “I NEED TO TRY THESE!!” While another eager shopper mentioned, “Ooooooo, I know the grape ones are gonna hit.”
While some people are excited about the launch, others are skeptical. One person commented on the post, saying, “I will never understand this flavor obsession.” Another said, “No mango or pineapple is wild,” critiquing the brand’s choice of filling flavors.
If you represent the side of shoppers who love candy with a hint of sweetness and heat, then you’ll want to get your hands on one of these Skittles Fuego packs before they sell out. They’re available on GoPuff, so you can have them delivered right to your door. They’ll make a great spicy treat this spooky season.
