If you're having trouble organizing your home, you're not alone. Between laundry, tidying up and add on extra chaos if you’re working from home, it's not surprising that many of us are stuck at a roadblock when it comes to organization.
If getting organized is on your to-do list, Yahoo Lifestyle Canada spoke with trained professional organizer Helen Youn to get some tips to move you closer to a more organized home.
One of her main tips is to give everything a home because it's easy for a space to become cluttered and unorganized when you don't know where to store something.
"If you put it somewhere temporary, it often comes clutter and then clutter will attract more clutter. When everything has a home, returning an object back to its home is an easier task because you don’t have to make room for it every time you use it," Youn said.
Youn explained that hidden storage can reduce visual clutter but it doesn’t always help people stay organized.
"To stay organized, keep your storage solution as simple as possible. Always store like items together and aim to be able to see what you own at a glance. This will help you remember what you own and avoid buying duplicates," Youn added.
Youn loves hidden and sneaky storage when it’s intentional storage like hooks inside doors, on walls and on the sides of furniture.
"I’ve used hooks to keep long necklaces untangled; by the entrance for keys, jackets, and bags; in the linen closet for holding up ironing boards, brooms, and mops; and even in the kitchen for aprons and potholders," she said.

Youn said that one of her favourite ways to add sneaky storage is using these hooks. Youn suggests attaching them inside doors and cabinets for some extra sneaky storage space or use them to hang hats on walls so it becomes both a display and storage.
