Social media praises Meghan Markle for wearing white after giving birth: 'That is one bold move!'
While photocalls after the birth of a baby is a longstanding royal tradition, posing for photographers and international media hours, or even days, after having a baby isn’t the most appealing thing for a new mom.
As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex proudly introduced their newborn son to the world on Wednesday, social media erupted with praise for how put-together Meghan Markle appeared, just 55 hours after giving birth.
In true Markle fashion, the Duchess looked stunning as she greeted the press alongside her husband and son wearing a white belted trench dress by British designer, Grace Wales Bonner, $880 CAD nude heels by Manolo Blahnik and a turquoise necklace by Jennifer Meyer ($1,010 CAD).
Moms of the Twitter-verse were surprised to see Markle in white for the brief meeting with the press, given that women’s bodies after delivery are, to put it mildly, a little worse for wear.

“You’ve really got to admire Meghan Markle,” one woman wrote. “Wearing white two days post birth? That is one bold move!”

“Mad respect to Meghan Markle for wearing white today,” another shared. “Y’all know new mothers be wearing nappies and heavy duty maternity pads the days after giving birth!”

While it’s important to remember that the photocall lasted less than four minutes, many are channelling Markle’s boldness as a #mood, and we couldn’t agree more!
As a Markle admirer put it, “I want the confidence of Meghan Markle wearing white the day after birth.”
