Solo Stove just released its smallest smokeless fire pit — and you can use this one indoors

I love living in a busy city. However, the one thing I miss most about living in the suburbs is sitting outside with my friends around a bonfire or by the fireplace in the wintertime. Living in an apartment, I can’t have either. But portable or mini fireplaces are setting out to give people a similar experience. And honestly, I’m into it.

If I had a backyard, I’d have a Solo Stove fire pit. But for now, I’ll have to settle for its newest launch: Cinder.

Cinder is the brand’s smallest smokeless fire pit that you can use indoors, and it just launched on Nov. 14. It’s small enough to sit on your coffee table. But it brings the same crackling fire and a similar ambiance as an outdoor fire pit. Think of it as a portable fireplace you can light the next time you want to make your space warmer or the next time you want to make s’mores inside. Of course, you can use it outdoors as well on any tabletop as well.

Now, I know what you’re thinking — an indoor fire pit sounds a little dangerous. Cinder uses Solo Stove’s clean-burning, food-safe gel fuel that’s safe for indoor and outdoor use. According to the brand’s product description, it has a three-hour burn time per gel fuel canister and provides 3,000 BTUs of warmth (that’s a lot for its size). Think of it like the chafing fuel gel canisters they use under catering dishes to keep food warm at a buffet — easy to light and easy to put out.

Best of all, Solo Stove’s Cinder is less than $50 and features an elegant white concrete bowl with a bamboo base and copper accents. So, yes, not only will it make things feel cozier, but it’s also a pretty piece of home decor. And if you want to add a larger fireplace to your home, Solo Stove recently launched a gel fuel fireplace, too.
