Sonic’s menu has been heating up this summer, just like the temperatures outside. Between its Flavorista Favorites menu with six new flavors of refreshing drinks and its Groovy Fries that make for the ultimate side, this drive-in fast food chain knows what it’s doing—and isn’t stopping anytime soon.

Now, after its recent release of the Cheesy Bacon Sonic Stack and Cheesy Bacon SuperSonic Stack, Sonic has another new burger coming to the menu and we can’t wait to give it a try.

Sonic’s New Smasher Cheeseburger

Sonic is getting into the smash burger game (one we know well) with its latest offering. The fast food chain wants to take everything you thought you knew about your favorite cheeseburger recipe and amplify it this summer with the launch of the Sonic Smasher. Starting July 29, you can head to your local restaurant to try this brand-new, hand-smashed burger—made to order.

The Sonic Smasher comes with not one but two Angus beef patties that are seared to perfection with just the right amount of crispy goodness. American cheese, pickles, and onions are then added along with the restaurant’s own signature Smasher sauce to seal the deal in between a soft potato bun.

This new burger will be available directly through the Sonic App on July 29, starting at $6.49, before it’s offered nationwide on August 5.

And if you happen to want even more beef from your burger, Sonic will also be offering the Triple Smasher with, you guessed it, one more patty to add to the mix for only a dollar more. Pair the Smasher with something from the $1.99 value menu and you are set for a summer meal on the go.
