Sophie Grégoire Trudeau celebrates Liberal win in eco-friendly $249 dress

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau was all smiles as she celebrated husband Justin Trudeau’s win in the Canadian federal election on Oct. 21.
The former television host waved to a crowd of supporters in Montreal as the prime minister addressed Liberal supporters during his late-night victory speech.
“Tonight Canadians rejected division and negativity,” Trudeau said after securing a minority government. Before celebrating going “back to work,” he was sure to thank his wife and family for standing by him during the campaign.
“There are a few people in particular I have to thank. First of all, my wife Sophie. We began this political adventure together ten years ago because we believed in a better future, because we knew that it was worthwhile fighting for a better, more prosperous Canada. Sophie, I love you.”

Grégoire Trudeau looked on as the crowd applauded the couple, who together share three children; 12-year-old son Xavier, 10-year-old daughter Ella and five-year-old son Hadrien. The political powerhouse in her own right demonstrated diplomatic dressing, opting for a $249 mustard dress by Canadian eco-friendly designer Eliza Faulkner, who manufactures and sources materials from Montreal.
On election day, Grégoire Trudeau shared an impassioned plea to voters to help “move Canada forward” and vote.
“I’m a mom, and when I think about my three beautiful kids I think about what kind of future I want for them and also for your families and your loved ones,” the gender equality activist said in a video posted to social media. “A healthy planet, a country where we are loved and celebrated for our differences, a country where we get to decide what we do with our own bodies, a present and a future where everybody gets the chance to thrive - that’s what this election is about: your values and your quality of life.”
