Spam Croquettes: a gourmet recipe for a survivalist

Local media personalities and chefs paired up to battle for the best gourmet dish in a pseudo-disaster emergency situation.

The four teams of two, comprised of a media personality and chef, had 30 minutes to create two, appetizing dishes (to be served to "celebrity judges") using the contents of four boxes of identical non-perishable ingredients.

Manpreet Sethi, Sous Chef at the Radisson, shared his Spam Croquettes recipe for a survivalist in a pinch.

You will need:

- Rice

- 500ml water

- 1 can mushroom soup

- Spam, diced

- Canned pineapple juice

- Evaporated milk

- Chili powder

- Kraft Dinner cheese packet

- Panko breadcrumbs

Instructions:

- Cook the rice with the water.

- Once done, add the mushroom soup, chilli, cheese packet and evaporated milk

- Dice Spam and cook on medium heat until crispy

- Glaze ham with pineapple juice and reduce heat until thick

- Scoop mixture with spoon, make a pocket with your fingers and add ham to pocket

- Form a ball, roll in breadcrumbs and fry until golden brown
