Who Is Player 125 in ‘Squid Game’ Season 2? Netflix

When Squid Game’s Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) first joined the game in season 1, he unknowingly partnered up with the game’s creator, Oh Il-nam (O Yeong-su). It was such a fantastic twist that Squid Game writer Hwang Dong-hyuk remixed that betrayal in season 2 with yet another character pretending to join the game. If it ain’t broke, don't fix it.

After entering the games once again in season 2, Gi-hun quickly befriends a new player named Oh Young-il (Lee Byung-hun). He’s secretly the game’s Front Man, Hwang In-ho. You would think that Gi-hun might have been wiser to similar interference of this kind in season 2, but that’s a topic for another day! According to a new fan theory, it’s possible that the Front Man isn’t the only inside contender to join the games.

Player 125—Park Min-su (Lee David)—is drawing some interest from TikTok and Reddit theorizers as another potential pretender in the games. The timid new competitor spent most of season 2 cowering in fear, prompting many fans to question how he’s survived the games so far. Min-su also has yet to reveal the reason he’s here competing for the cash prize. If the fan theory is correct, however, it’s not Min-su’s silence that’s sounding alarm bells. It’s his name—specifically, his actor’s name.

Back in season 1, one of the actors who played a VIP spectating on the games was credited as Lee David. Could this Lee David be the same actor as Min-su’s Lee David? It’s very possible that Lee David is just a common name shared between two different actors, but audiences are still excited by the possibility that Min-su is a VIP who is playing the games himself. Maybe that’s why he’s so afraid!

Fans will likely find out for certain when Squid Game season 3 returns with new games sometime later this year.
