Stacie Mistysyn gives fellow 'Degrassi' star an 'epic' birthday gift: 'So clever'
Mistysyn and Mastroianni starred on the hit TV show between 1987 to 1991, and again in the mid-2000s on "Degrassi: The Next Generation."
Stacie Mistysyn knows how to give the best gifts.
On Thursday morning, the "Degrassi" alum, known for playing Caitlin Ryan on the hit TV show, took to Instagram to share a series of photos of her "epic" birthday present for Canadian co-star Pat Mastroianni.
Mastroianni, who portrayed Joey Jeremiah, starred alongside Mistysyn between 1987 to 1991. The pair also appeared in "Degrassi: The Next Generation."
In the post, Mistysyn smiled while sitting beside Mastroianni. They held up figurines of their "Degrassi" characters, which Mistysyn gifted her friend for his 51st birthday.
The dolls, made by artist Ross Lavender, sported outfits the characters wore in the show. The miniatures were fitted in retro-style packaging complete with TV stills and a "school profile."
In the caption, the fitness guru wished Mastroianni a happy birthday and praised Lavender's skills.
"What do you get the guy who has everything? A miniature of himself! Thank you to the uber-skilled [Ross Lavender] for making this Joey Jeremiah to play with my Caitlin Ryan (also created by Ross). Happy birthday [Pat Mastroianni]!" wrote Mistysyn.
In the comments, fans gushed over the miniatures and went crazy over the stars' reunion.
"This is so epic, I love these dolls so much!" commented a follower.
"My teenage heart is melting. I want one of these!" added another.
"These are amazing! So clever. Happy Birthday Pat!" shared someone else.
"This is an '80s dream," wrote a fan. "So awesome!"
This isn't the first time that "Degrassi" stars have celebrated each other's birthdays.
Earlier this month, Alexa Steele, part of the 2001-2015 "Degrassi: The Next Generation" reboot, celebrated her big sister Cassie's 33rd birthday at Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
In the show, Cassie played Manny Santos while Alexa portrayed Angela Jeremiah.
Alexa's post included snaps of the Canadian actresses rocking Mickey Mouse headbands in front of the Magic Kingdom, as well as them posing in disposable raincoats.
A third photo showed the sister duo standing in front of a Tyrannosaurus rex from "Jurassic Park."
"Happy birthday to my beautiful big sis," she penned in the caption. "I’m sending you all my love and positivity for your special day. I hope all your birthday wishes come true."
