New steakhouse opening in Myrtle Beach, SC. Owner has other restaurants in city
Sam Lauren is adding to his Myrtle Beach restaurant group by opening an upscale steakhouse.
Uptown Bistro, 6901 N. Kings Highway, will offer breakfast, lunch and then serve prime steak for dinner, Lauren said.
“We’re also going to have a bakery,” Lauren said.
Lauren hopes to open the restaurant in the next month, he said.
The building will be more upscale with lots of windows and a patio and deck with a balcony view. The deck overlooks the water.
The inside, which is still under construction as of Sept. 19, is spacious with soft colors and wooden ceiling beams with black pendant lights.
Lauren wanted to open a steakhouse in the area after owning steakhouses for many years and recently opening a new location of the breakfast restaurant Toasty on restaurant row, he said.
Lauren is the owner of the SOHO brand of steak and seafood restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area. There is also Toasty, which has locations in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, and is part of the brand.
Lauren is also in the process of building a new strip mall in Carolina Forest, called Soho Town Center. It will feature a Soho Steak & Seafood restaurant as the main anchor business, as well as a pizzeria.
