12 new movies, series to watch in Canada this February: Netflix, Disney+ and more
From Oscar nominated films to fan favourite series hitting the small screen, add these titles to your February watch list.
We're in the midst of awards season, which means some of the critically acclaimed movies will soon be taking over streaming platforms — TIFF films like "The Woman King" and "Empire of Light" will be making their debut on Crave and Disney+ respectively.
The start of February also means that Valentine's Day is around the corner, with a slew of new rom-coms hitting screens this month, including "Your Place or Mine" on Netflix, starring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher.
Everyone's favourite stalker is also back as Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) returns in a new season of "You" on Netflix.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter following the death of King T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman), the heroes must band together if they are to forge a new path for their country. Streams Feb. 1 on Disney+.
Black Ice
A TSN and Crave Original documentary, Black Ice is a full-length feature documentary that examines the role of Black players in hockey and is directed by Oscar nominee Hubert Davis, and executive produced by LeBron James, Drake and Maverick Carter. Streams Feb. 2 on Crave.
Moonlight
The Oscar-winning movie chronicles the life of a young Black man from childhood to adulthood as he struggles to find his place while growing up in a rough neighbourhood of Miami. Streams Feb. 3 on CBC Gem.
Week of Feb. 6
Empire of Light
Set in and around an English coastal town in the early 1980s, this film follows Hilary (Olivia Colman), a cinema manager struggling with her mental health, and Stephen (Micheal Ward), a new employee who longs for escape. Streams Feb. 8 on Disney+.
You: Season 4, Part 1
In the fourth season of "You," Joe (Penn Badgley) is now in London, starting anew as he vows to bury the past and be his best self. But on the rocky road to redemption, a new obsession starts to take hold. Streams Feb. 9 on Netflix.
Your Place or Mine
When best friends and total opposites Debbie (Reese Witherspoon) and Peter (Ashton Kutcher) swap homes for a week, they get a peek into each other's lives that could open the door to love. Streams Feb. 10 on Netflix.
Somebody I Used to Know
This unconventional love story follows workaholic Ally (Alison Brie) who faces a major professional setback, which sends her running to the comforts of her hometown. She spends a whirlwind evening reminiscing with her first love Sean (Jay Ellis) and starts to question everything about the person she's become. Streams Feb. 10 on Prime Video.
Week of Feb. 13
The Woman King
Inspired by true events, the film follows the epic journey of General Nanisca (Viola Davis), as she inspires her King to take on the enemies determined to violate their honour and destroy their way of life. Streams Feb. 17 on Crave.
Hello Tomorrow!
Set in a retro-future world, “Hello Tomorrow!” follows a group of traveling salesmen hawking lunar timeshares. Billy Crudup stars as Jack, a salesman whose unshakeable faith in a brighter tomorrow inspires his coworkers, but threatens to leave him in the lurch. Streams Feb. 17 on Apple TV+.
Sharper
No one is who they seem in “Sharper,” a thriller set amongst New York City's bedrooms, barrooms and boardrooms. Characters compete for riches and power in a high stakes game of ambition, greed, lust and jealousy that will keep audiences guessing. Streams Feb. 17 on Apple TV+.
Week of Feb. 20
Outer Banks: Season 3
New adventures take the Pogues to the Caribbean and beyond as the friends are pulled into a dangerous rival's hunt for a legendary lost city. Streams Feb. 23 on Netflix.
We Have a Ghost
Finding a ghost named Ernest (David Harbour) haunting their new home turns Kevin (Anthony Mackie)'s family into overnight social media sensations. But when Kevin and Ernest go rogue to investigate the mystery of Ernest's past, they become a target of the CIA. Streams Feb. 24 on Netflix.
