Surfside Beach bar and restaurant closes in the new year. It was a local favorite
A restaurant and bar well-loved by locals in the Myrtle Beach area closed at the start of 2025 with plans for a new bar to take its place.
Borgata of Surfside, 813 Surfside Drive, announced it had shut down on Dec. 31. The restaurant has been open for more than seven years and closed due to “sudden unforeseen challenges,” according to a post on Facebook.
The post said Borgata will rebrand and open as a new bar and restaurant although it did not say when. A phone call to Borgata’s owner was not returned before publication.
Borgata served burgers, tacos and sandwiches along with appetizers such as chicken wings and fried foods. It also frequently had live music and a game space with a pool table and darts. Several Google reviews described it as a place where locals hung out.
