Sydney Sweeney offers a chic blueprint for cold weather dressing
It’s not uncommon to see celebrities, in the midst of winter, running from tinted SUVs and into heated buildings wearing sh0rt hemlines and thin tights. These looks are certainly chic — aspirational even — but still woefully impractical for the rest of us, who often don’t have the luxury of being chauffeured around a tundra.
This season, Sydney Sweeney has emerged as a new winter style inspiration — and that’s largely due to her ability to make warm clothes look effortlessly chic in below-freezing temperatures. On Monday in New York City, she did just that with two separate outfits.
The first was a masterclass in unconventional layering. Wearing head-to-toe Chloé, the Anyone But You star paired a ruffly, gauzy white blouse underneath a boxy wool military jacket. The top’s frilly hemline and arm cuffs poked out beneath the restrictive outerwear, adding a contrast to her overall look. For good measure, Sweeney added faded wide-leg jeans, a gold Chloé logo belt, a caramel leather bracelet bag, and amber-tinted sunglasses.

For her second look of the day, the actress bundled up in a nearly all-white outfit courtesy of Brunello Cucinelli, taking a style cue from Angelina Jolie’s penchant for elegant and easy overcoats. Sweeney wore an ivory cashmere jumper tucked into a pair of white high-waisted trousers with a wide-leg silhouette. She cinched the waist of the latter with a thin black leather belt, then topped off the look with a long stone-grey wool coat, brown platform boots, a tan leather shoulder bag, and black-rimmed glasses with orange lenses.
