Sydney Sweeney Wears Sculptural Top Made Entirely of White Flowers
On Friday, Sydney Sweeney wore a piece of art to the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie Immaculate, a striking sculptural top from Balmain made of fabric white flowers and a pair of arms wrapped around her waist to hold up the bouquet in all the right places. The top needed no accessories, and she styled it with a pair of wide-legged black pants with an extra long cuff that covered her feet.
The flower effect created natural cutouts all along her torso and was backless. The Anyone But You actress had her hair slicked back in a wet style, and had a very natural makeup palette with a pale pink lip. In her ears were a pair of small gold hoops.
For the premiere, Sweeney was accompanied by her grandmothers and other family. During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last Wednesday to promote the film, she shared that she had actually cast them both in small roles in the movie.
“I flew my grandmas out [to Italy],” she said. “They’d never been to Europe. My Grandy’s dream was to go to Italy—she’s never left the country before,” Sweeney said. “They were, like, little old nuns in there.”
Fallon then shared a picture of one of Sweeney's grandmothers in her nun's habit.
“This is my Grandy. She’s iconic,” the actress said. “She needed a smoke break in between takes so we went outside and I had to capture how amazing she looked.”
Immaculate is a horror film in which Sweeney plays an American nun named Cecilia who joins a convent in the Italian countryside where things quickly turn creepy. In an interview with Deadline last year, Sweeney said that she is “unhinged” in the film, “which is always fun.”
“But it’s also beautiful," she added. “I really wanted to make sure that it was a beautifully shot horror film because we were filming in such a beautiful location. Rome is stunning, so I wanted to do the locations justice.”
