If we've learned anything this year, it's not to be surprised at what comes back into fashion. Case in point: the Y2K trend. While it is triggering for millennials, like myself, who are re-living memories of awkward school years at just the sight of a pair of cargo pants, Gen Z seemingly cannot get enough of butterfly tops, low-rise everything, statement belts and charm necklaces.
Of all the unlikely Y2K styles we've seen come back around, arm warmers has topped our list of unexpected looks. But that's exactly what Doja Cat wore on a night out last month. And now, Sydney Sweeney has championed another unexpected trend.
To attend the Miu Miu Womenswear Spring/Summer 2024 show as part of Paris Fashion Week today, the actress was naturally repping the Italian fashion house and looked stunning as per.
Check out Syd's 'fit for yourself:
Wearing a black tweed cropped jacket with gold buttons and matching low-rise micro shorts, Sydney's hotpants were so tiny they offered more than a peek at the top of her white boxer shorts. The Miu Miu logo visible above her waistband. It's giving '00s throwbacks to sk8er bois who'd wear their jeans suuuper low, almost their entire boxers on show.
Syd styled her ensemble with towering black patent platform pumps, black oval sunglasses and she toted a black leather handbag, all from the brand ofc. Opting for a natural makeup look, her long blonde hair was styled in mermaid waves, cascading just past the cropped hem of her jacket.
Yep, we told you – stunning.
We perhaps shouldn't be surprised peek-a-boo boxers were on the menu at Miu Miu. The look featured in its SS22 collection, with mini skirts layered over logo-emblazoned underwear waistbands. Plus, given the prevalence of the underwear-as-outerwear trend, we're here for the masculine take on the trend.
If anyone was going to bring back peeking boxers, it could only have been Sydney Sweeney.
