SZA Chose Not to Walk the 2024 Grammys Red Carpet, but Her transparent Dress Still Stole the Show
SZA happened to casually be the most nominated artist at the Grammy Awards this year, and she showed up looking ready to win. Despite the "Kill Bill" singer deciding to skip out on the ceremony's red carpet, we *did* get to see her incredible 'fit on the actual Grammys stage as she not-so-casually nabbed her award for Best R&B Song.
For this year's show, the celeb opted to wear a gorgeous grey dress with draping around the waist and black crystals that outlined her bodice and created a truly stunning optical illusion. TL;DR: We're adding this iconic ~lewk~ to our Pinterest board ASAP.
A refresher that SZA's alum SOS was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Progressive R&B Album, while "Kill Bill" was nominated for Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, and Record of the Year. "Snooze," another *chef's kiss* hit on the project, for its part, was nominated for Best R&B Song, while "Love Language" was nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance. Finally, "Low" was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance and "Ghost in the Machine" with Phoebe Bridgers was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Last night, the singer nabbed three of those awards: Best R&B Song, Best Progressive R&B Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Soooo yah, to say it was a good night for her is a serious understatement.
Back in December 2023, SZA spoke with Zane Lowe about her incredible career, saying (via People), "I don’t have any more goals, and that sounds terrible, but career-wise…I keep saying that—nobody believes me—but it’s just like, you don’t understand. These are my goals. I have already gone platinum. I didn’t think I would ever go platinum. I sold a bunch of records. I got to meet Stevie Wonder, I got to meet Beyoncé and work with her, I got to meet Frank Ocean." She added, "My mom came and my dad came to all these cool countries to see me perform. I’ve had sold out shows, I got to headline a festival. Like, what else do I want? I’m nominated for Grammys. I’ve won a Grammy. I’m done, for me, personally. Anything past this is so much more than I wanted, thought of, dreamed of."
Truly didn't think we could love her any more than we already do, but here we are!
