It was yet another star-studded evening in California on Sunday, as the industry’s most respected entertainers stepped out for the 21st annual Hollywood Film Awards. Angelina Jolie made a rare red carpet appearance at the Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday night. The 42-year-old actress and director was easily one of the best dressed at the star-studded LA event in a dove grey, satin wrap dress by British label Jenny Packham . The mum-of-six finished the look loose curls, red lipstick and subtle jewellery. Other A-listers at the gala included ‘Fifty Shades’ star Dakota Johnson , who went braless in a red trouser suit by Calvin Klein, ‘Big Little Lies’ actress Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslet . The latter looked fantastic in a black lace ensemble. Amy Adams glittered in a black gown that she teamed with a tuxedo jacket and Eva Longoria Baston worked a pinstriped wrap dress. Aussie star Margot Robbie was one of the only celebrities who opted to wear a bold print, arriving in a floral Louis Vuitton number. The male stars were equally well dressed. James Franco and Jake Gyllenhaal looked dapper in slick, black suits worn which they both paired with a skinny tie. Couples can begin to mimic each other – and soon one’s wardrobe has cross-pollinated with his or her main squeezes. Celebrities are also privy to this emulation, and sometimes celebrity couples become so closely cloned that these still frames are moments forever etched in your mind (we’re looking at you Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears circa 2001.) Marlene Dietrich became a big fan of the tux in the 1930s, wearing it both on and offscreen. Later on, the look evolved from a costume to a style statement thanks to Yves Saint Laurent who designed Le Smoking, the ultimate power suit, in 1966. Photo: Instagram Many women bring photos of celebrities to their hairdressers, so perhaps it’s no surprise they also bring them to their plastic surgeons. According to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery’s annual survey, 13% of plastic surgeons saw an increase in requests for celebrity procedures, a big jump from just 3% on 2013. The most desirable facial feature was Angelina Jolie’s lips. Next was Beyonce’s facial structure, Kim Kardashaian’s eyes, and Natalie Portman’s nose. According to the survey, 18% of the procedures in 2014 were performed on men.
