Tammy Slaton’s Sister Shares Photos from When She Was in Rehab Before Her 500-Lb. Weight Loss: ‘We Are So Proud’

On Jan. 9, the 1000-Lb. Sisters star’s older sibling Amanda Halterman, 44, posted throwback photos on Instagram, reflecting on their Facetime calls while Slaton, 38, was in rehab trying to lose weight.
“Flashback to rehab FaceTime days. We are so proud of you sis,” Halterman captioned the post while tagging their other siblings Amy Slaton and Chris Combs. “Keep pushing forward to accomplish your goals, you got this and we got you!”
Slaton also shared the post on her own Instagram page. In the comments section, fans of the pair praised Halterman’s support and how different Slaton looks now after having lost 500 lbs.
“She’s done amazing!!!! But so has the whole family, loads to be proud of ❤️” one follower wrote.
Another user commented, “Tammy looks like a whole different person! I'm sure she's feeling as good as she looks. You all have done fantastic! You're so lucky to have each other and the support.”

Slaton was previously admitted to Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio, where she focused on her weight loss journey in hopes of getting approved for bariatric surgery.
She stayed at the facility for 14 months and qualified for the weight loss surgery in 2022.
After returning home and continuing her weight loss journey on her own, Slaton revealed in August 2024 that she’s lost 500 lbs. At the time, she posted a TikTok video dancing to Dylan Scott’s “Livin’ My Best Life,” sharing a motivational message about her experience.
“I know I can’t dance. I’m just up here having fun trying to make everybody smile and pass it around and spread the word that anything is possible,” she captioned the clip. “You’re strong. You’re beautiful. You are love. You are enough. Never forget that.”

In October 2024, during an episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters, Slaton had a follow-up appointment with her surgeon Dr. Eric Smith alongside her siblings.
Smith gave her a goal of losing 100 lbs. in between their visits and the reality star surpassed his expectations. She weighed in at 303.8 lbs., which Smith said was “unbelievable.”
“I surpassed Dr. Smith's goal, my goal, all the goals!” Tammy boasts in the clip. “I’m so ready for skin removal!”
