Taylor Swift's bejeweled night took a surprising turn at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

The singer-songwriter accessorized her stunning Reputation-esque awards show lewk—an asymmetrical Versace gown complete with a thigh-high slit, gold button detailing, and an open back—with a bevy of jewels, but she appeared to break one of her rings during the night.

Take a peek at the moment the singer realized the mishap right here:

According to People, the vintage onyx and diamond ring c/o Van Cleef & Arpels retails for *checks notes* a whopping $12,000...which explains why Taylor immediately alerted a security guard about the diamond center of the accessory missing as soon as she realized.

In the vid, Taylor could even be seen bending down to inspect the floor while another person used their flashlight to help the search effort.

Sadly for us nosy people, it's unclear whether the celeb managed to recover the diamond. By the end of the night, when Taylor took the stage to accept the highly-coveted Video of the Year Award for her single "Anti-Hero," the ring was entirely absent from her left hand.

Thankfully, the singer had tons more to celebrate along with her Video of the Year win, including winning another eight (!!) out of the 11 total categories she was nominated in—a feat that took her total career VMA wins up to 23 (the second most overall, next to Beyoncé's record).

Throughout the evening, Tay also won Song of the Year, Best Pop Video, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects for her smash hit "Anti-Hero" in addition to wins for Artist of the Year, Show of the Summer for her historic Eras Tour, and Album of the Year for Midnights.

"Okay, his is unbelievable," Taylor gushed while accepting a Moonman for Video of the Year, which btw led to her breaking her own record (!!) for most wins in the category. "This is...I just want to say that the fact that this is a fan-voted award means so much to me based on the memories that we've made recently."

"I've just been on a tour that has been the most joyful and exhilarating experience. And we're not even halfway done with it. It's really felt like the adventure of a lifetime this past year. I cannot believe that it was a year ago at the VMAs that I announced the Midnights album," she continued before adding, "And all I have to say tonight is thank you. I’m blown away. Thank you so much to the fans. I love you so much."

So 😭 happy 😭 for 😭 her 😭😭😭.
