Taylor Swift Had The Perfect Response To Selena Gomez's Engagement
It should come as little surprise that patron saint of the Swift Squad, Taylor Swift herself, had the sweetest response to Selena Gomez's recent engagement to Benny Blanco.
Commenting on Gomez's Instagram carousel of four pictures announcing the good news, Swift wrote, 'yes I will be the flower girl.' At the time of writing, Swift's comment on the post alone had garnered just shy of 1 million likes.

Gomez and Swift's friendship dates back to 2008, but it wasn't until January 2020 that the stars opened up to WSJ magazine about their connection, saying there is a lot people don't see. Swift said of Gomez, 'There has always been this quality of sisterhood, and I don't say that in a basic way. I knew from when I met her, I would always have her back. In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me. But I don’t know if I can forgive someone who hurts her.'
Gomez added, 'There’s so much of my friendship with Taylor that people don’t know about because we don’t necessarily feel the need to post about everything we do. She has showed up for me in ways that I would have never expected. Flown in because I was hurt and was going through something. Stuff that was going on with my family. It’s been proven year after year and in every moment of my life that she is one of my best friends in the world. We don’t agree on everything, but we respect each other with everything.'
Gomez and Blanco announced their engagement on December 11, 2024, after publicly unveiling their relationship one year prior (although it's believed they started privately dating as early as June 2023). Swift herself is in a relationship herself with NFL player Travis Kelce, with two sources admitting to Us Weekly on December 3 that Swift and Kelce themselves aren't opposed to taking their commitment to the next level but that they're taking their time.
Among the other stars to have commented on Gomez's post, which has been liked more than 14 million times, are Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston and her fiancé himself, who wrote, 'hey wait... that's my wife.'
