Taylor Swift Tried Out the Square Nail Trend in a Color That Will Be Everywhere in 2024
Like, actually—here's why.
The Kansas City Chiefs won their game on Sunday and landed a spot in the upcoming Super Bowl. While this is a big deal for sports fans, it's an even bigger deal for Swifties. For one, it means WAG of the year, aka Taylor Swift, will be at the Super Bowl. But, also, it meant that the singer went on to the field to congratulate her boyfriend, Travis Kelce — and we got a much-needed closeup of her latest look. The standout? Her on-trend peach fuzz manicure.
Peach Fuzz is the Pantone Color of the Year — so from blush to nail polishes, it's going to dominate 2024. According to Olivia Van Iderstine, vice president of content and creative at Olive & June, it's one of the many creamy pastels we should expect to see trending this year. And Swift's latest manicure cemented the color's buzz-worthy status. She paired the color with a chunky silver glitter top coat, adding a celebratory element that proved to be more than appropriate.
In addition to sporting the year's color, Swift also departed from her typical almond-shaped nails in favor of a square shape with a subtle rounded edge that adds a bit of softness. She's the second celeb to rock this early-aughts shape as of late. Last week, Meghan Markle wore square nails with a delicate French tip. So, if you've needed a push to switch up your nails with a more angular look, now you've got it.
