When it comes to health, the market is flooded with all sorts of devices to help women stay up to date on everything from fitness and fertility to periods. It’s a big business. The main reason is because women like to have that feeling of control over what’s happening with their bodies – not to mention how much this info helps when you’re at the doctor’s office.

The Bellabeat is a tracker that keeps track of multiple elements of women’s health. Using data input and a wearable device called the LEAF, it monitors movement, breathing, sleep patterns and stress levels – as well as your monthly flow.

“So far, we have collected over 16,000 hours of breathing, 4,352,231 hours of sleep, 11,429,400 hours of activity, and around 180,000,000 period logs generated by our users,” said Sandro Mur, the company’s CEO in a press release. “This user data lets us improve the firmware of the LEAF and the algorithms behind the LEAF app, allowing us to give personalized insights and customized advice to our users”

The best part of the LEAF is that it’s surprisingly cute. It comes in silver with American ashwood or rose gold with black wood and can be worn either as a necklace, bracelet or clip that goes on your shirt.

“The problem with most health trackers out there today is the fact that you can spot them from a mile away - one look at the robust, rubber bands and you know you’re looking at a piece of wearable technology before asking a single question,” says Urška Sršen, CO-founder of Bellabeat. “When we first started thinking about the LEAF, we didn’t want it to just be a good health tracker— we wanted it to be beautiful, as well."

While some people will wear a tracker for pure curiosity sake, the creators of Bellabeat really emphasize the practicality of the device. More than just keeping track of things, it also helps you deal.

It sends alerts to remind you to take your birth control pill, has built-in breathing exercises to help you cope when it senses you are stressed, identifies ovulation days for those trying to conceive and charts your sleep so you can figure out what factors play into a good night’s rest.
