Bullet Train, a 2022 action comedy movie with a star-studded cast led by Brad Pitt, was a successful and fun film — receiving over 75% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie has several funny and memorable moments, but one, in particular, is making the rounds on TikTok.
The original scene shows Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry) and Tangerine (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) grabbing a man to talk to him, only to find he’s dead. They look at each other in confusion and then lean in for confirmation. TikTokers are changing the background — which is a train in the original — to fit the joke, but still use Lemon and Tangerine’s confusion as the center of the meme.
“It’s a shocker every time,” wrote Lauren Cordova (@shawtyg0lto) in the caption.
The original post for this trend surprisingly had nothing to do with the Bullet Train meme. Fahad Kaheem (@fahaadk_) posted a video joking about what it feels like to end the workday while it’s raining outside. The common thread between his video and the newer memes is the fact they use the same song.
Both templates use Lil Uzi Vert and ARIZONATEARS’ “Watch This (ARIZONATEARS Pluggnb Remix).” However, this version of the song is slowed down. The sound has over 35,000 videos attached to it, with the Bullet Train meme being the most popular associated trend.
Some of the biggest accounts have dived into this meme, with popular music festival Rolling Loud (@rollingloud) posting a video with this template.
“You and your homie see Kendrick and Travis on the same lineup,” wrote Rolling Loud in the video.
The revelations people are showing in their content aren’t as shocking as finding a man dead on a train like in the movie, but TikTokers’ curiosity is drawing a lot of attention with this meme.
