The Yellowstone prequel 1883 may be over (much to the dismay of fans), but one of its stars is still talking about his experience on the Paramount+ show.

Country singer Tim McGraw took on the challenge of portraying the Dutton family patriarch James Dutton, who, along with his wife and children, made the harrowing journey West. But before filming began, Tim got some words of encouragement from the original Dutton leader, Kevin Costner, who stars as John Dutton on Yellowstone.

According to the complicated Dutton Family Tree, Kevin's character is actually the great-grandfather of Tim's character. James Dutton appeared in flashbacks on Yellowstone, but Tim and Kevin did not film any scenes together.

Tim shared a video talking about the experience on Instagram. He said, "Faith and I are very proud to be part of the Dutton family now after 1883. Kevin Costner was so nice in welcoming me to the Dutton family. So I thought it was my duty to welcome Harrison Ford, one of my favorite actors. I never thought that Harrison Ford would be my brother. Makes me feel pretty good. Welcome to the Dutton family, Harrison. I think you're doing a fantastic job. Of course, that goes without saying, and we really love 1923."

Fans left messages like, "I love 1923, but 1883 was seriously on a level of its own. It was absolutely fantastic!! ❤️" and "You and Faith were amazing in 1883!! Loving Harrison!!🤩💥💫♥️"

Luckily for Tim and all of the 1923 fans, Paramount+ has confirmed that the show will be back for a second season.
