To say adidas sneakers have had a big few years is basically the understatement of the decade. The brand's shoes, namely the Sambas and Gazelles, have been spotted on anyone and everyone, from megastars like Olivia Rodrigo and Gigi Hadid to regular folks like us.
Certain colorways are practically impossible to purchase, selling out in minutes, and the shoes are all over TikTok as a versatile styling piece. But what if you don't want a pair of Sambas or Gazelles for the fall and winter season? Well, thankfully, adidas has a stacked lineup of shoe offerings, and they are about to release a bunch of new colorways in the lesser-known — but equally cool — Jabbar OG sneakers.
The Jabbar OG shoes, which are an homage to basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, come in two different styles: the Hi, which retails for $110, and the Lo, which retails for $100. The shoes resemble the iconic Superstar with their simple silhouette and three stripes on the sides, though they don't have the same shell toe as the Superstar. Rather, the Jabbar OGs have a suede toe cap for a cool contrast against the leather of the shoe, which gives them a cool retro flair.
Another fun detail? The Jabbar OGs have a gold foil logo on both the tongue and the heel, plus a creamy white midsole for a vintage vibe. adidas's signature three stripes are also present, made of tumbled leather.
The new colorways include a crisp white and green pair, an all-white Hi, and a black Hi shoe with white details. They're simple but not boring, classic, and timeless, and they may just be poised to take over once we hit peak Samba and Gazelle. The Jabbar OGs will be available exclusively at the sneaker retailer UNDFTD starting November 6, then globally on November 15. Happy shopping!
