Al Roker is making sure he's taking in all of the holiday spirit!
The Today show star is famous for ringing in the holidays by hosting the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and being part of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting. Recently, he took some of the joyful magic home with him, as he shared on Instagram how he and wife Deborah Roberts took part in decorating the family Christmas tree. Featuring a collection of well-loved ornaments, Al couldn't help but get sentimental about how much he enjoys partaking in the timeless tradition of lighting up the tree for the first time.
"Just us ol’ folks here decorating the tree," he wrote in the caption on December 8. "But it always feels good to flip that switch and see it come to life."
When fans saw how Al decorated his Christmas tree for the holidays, they were ecstatic over the decor. What's more, some even noticed unique elements that only he would have on display.
"Do I see an ornament of Al Roker?" one person facetiously wrote in the comments. "It’s a beautiful tree, Al!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Deborah, and your lovely family! 🎄🎅🎄," another wished him. "Love the traditional tree with meaningful ornaments on it," a different follower added.
No matter what decorations are on Al's beloved Christmas tree, we so adore the time and care he put into making it look so beautiful! Now, the question we really have is whether Al will cook the holiday meal. Given how he and daughter Courtney Roker Laga released a cookbook called Recipes to Live By back in October, there's definitely a possibility of that occurring... especially as the two shared a video of themselves making their Sweet Potatoes Poon ahead of Thanksgiving.
"The Roker family has been making our Sweet Potatoes Poon recipe for decades!" he captioned the clip on Instagram on November 25. "And you absolutely have to top it with broiled marshmallows..."
Agree on the marshmallows, Al. Happy Holidays to the Rokers!
