Marc Jacobs

As is tradition, Marc Jacobs closed New York Fashion Week on Wednesday night. This year, he did so in dramatic style with a slew of head-turning ballgowns that will surely make their way onto the Oscars red carpet next weekend. There were fairytale feathers and eccentric shapes in the evening wear and pastels, checks and some striking capes in the more casual section of the show. While it felt very modern, there was a blast-from-the-past surprise at the end in the form of Christy Turlington Burns, who came out of runway retirement after 25 years to close the show.
