Tom Hardy's Taboo future gets long-awaited update
Tom Hardy's period drama series Taboo has received an encouraging update from producers.
Co-created by Tom, his father Chips and Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight, the BBC drama originally aired in 2017 and a second series has been stalled in various stages of development ever since.
While Hardy has often expressed hopes of returning to Taboo, Knight has re-teamed with producers Dean Baker and Kate Crowe on an adaptation of Great Expectations.
Baker has now confirmed to The Radio Times that his team have officially started work on Taboo too and are hopeful it'll be hitting screens before too long.

"Currently we are working on a second season of Taboo, and hopefully we will get to explore more Dickens [like Great Expectations] with Steve, Ridley and Tom," Baker explained.
The gritty Taboo pulled no punches in its brutal story of industrialist James Delaney (Hardy) in his battles with the East India Company in 19th-century London.
The outstanding international cast featured Academy Award nominee Jessie Buckley, The Fall's Leo Bill, Peaky Blinders' Stephen Graham and The White Lotus's Tom Hollander.
Taboo was met with wide acclaim when it was released in 2017, earning a pair of Primetime Emmy Award nominations and winning a British Academy Television Craft Award for its makeup and hair design.
Hardy has kept very business in the last several years, having packed in a few Venom movies, a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and an adaptation of Dickens' A Christmas Carol with Knight.
Knight has also kept himself busy with the Princess Diana biopic Spencer on the big screen, as well as this new Great Expectations adaptation on the small screen and the final series of Peaky Blinders.
Peaky Blinders is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
