Tom Holland’s Father Details His Son’s ‘Well-Prepared’ Proposal To Zendaya
Last weekend, Zendaya walked the red carpet at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards wearing her brand new engagement ring, revealing that she and her longtime partner Tom Holland were engaged. The proposal reportedly happened over the holidays. Tom’s father, Dominic Holland, has now released more details about the engagement in his most recent Patreon blog post.
The English actor and author shared in his post that he knows some of the people following him are doing so to glean more details about the celebrity couple. Dominic wrote it 'amuses' him, but he was happy to have something to report this time.

'The big news this week is a good example of just such an opportunity for me—are they/aren’t they engaged?' he wrote. 'Zendaya wearing a ring and Tom nowhere to be seen adding to the intrigue.'
Dominic then stated that he would not be 'adding anything new and juicy like a date, venue, guest list,' but he would be sharing 'the different approaches of father and son to proposing marriage.'
'Tom, as you know by now was very incredibly well prepared. He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter,' Dominic explained. 'Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear.'
Dominic shared that when he proposed to Tom’s mum, Nikki Holland, it was 'nothing like my eldest son who has obviously watched all the slushy movies because growing up I never saw him reading a book.'
He added, 'For most blokes, the stress of purchasing an engagement ring is being able to afford it. I suspect that this was the least of Tom’s worries, more concerned with the stone, its size and clarity, its housing, which jeweller.'
The Spider-Man star’s dad mentioned how he does not 'envy those who are gawped at wherever they go,' adding, 'I do fret that their combined stardom will amplify their spotlight and the commensurate demands on them and yet they continually confound me by handling everything with aplomb.'
He continued, 'And even though show-business is a messy place for relationships and particularly so for famous couples as they crash and burn in public and are too numerous to mention… I am completely confident they will make a successful union.'
