Our top picks from the John Lewis 2024 Christmas collection
John Lewis has revealed four Christmas themes for 2024: Sugar & Spice, Wisdom & Wonder, Dawn & Dusk and Trinket & Treasure.
"This year, our Christmas themes celebrate the diverse spirit of Christmas and are inspired by a celebration of contrasts. Our four themes have each been thoughtfully curated by our team of expert buyers and designers with the intention of bringing joy into the home this festive season," says Lisa Cherry, Head of Christmas.
'"Alongside our themes, key trends for this Christmas will include playful supersized wreaths and oversized bows taking centre stage as we expect "doorscaping" and playing with scale to be popular with our customers. 2024 sees the debut of our very first pink Christmas tree as part of Sugar & Spice, a colour we predict will be a big hit for the festive period.
"We believe baubles will be chosen as gifting items this year, with trend-led options including a mirror ball cherry, glasses-wearing sausage dog and retro sweet treats all perfect for Secret Santa."
With less than 100 days until Christmas, now is the perfect time to browse and shop the range. Take a look at our favourites below...
Sugar & spice
Sugar and spice, and everything nice...that's what shoppers can expect from John Lewis' joyful theme.
"Retro nostalgia combined with maximalism creates a trend that is unapologetically fun and sure to bring a smile to any scrooge. Standouts here include our first pink tree, our cheeky gingerbread characters, and oversized sequin bows," says Lisa.
Add a playful touch to your Christmas tree with John Lewis' felt decorations shaped like sweet treats. We love the smiling Battenburg and fondant fancy (both £7). The range also welcomes the launch of the British store's first-ever pink Christmas tree (pictured).
John Lewis also has everything you need to get your bedroom ready for Christmas, including these lovely decorative scatter cushions.
Dawn & Dusk
"Inspired by mystical winter woodlands, this rustic theme is brought to life with glass mushrooms, holly print bedding and illustrated gift wrap," says Lisa.
"The classic colour palette of red and green is reimagined in grown-up tones of burgundy and teal, with velvet as a key texture. This year we introduce the Snowy Forest Tree and have added chic outfits to our bestselling woodland animal decorations," continues Lisa.
"This curation is perfect for transitioning effortlessly from autumn into festive styling."
Celebrate the 12 days of Christmas with these characterful baubles, each depicting an illustration from the festive song.
Wisdom & Wonder
"This look is all about opulent indulgence with a colour palette of warm golds and rich oranges blended with classic black and white. Think lighthearted tree decorations," continues Lisa.
Upgrade your festive feasts with John Lewis' wonderful offerings of plates, napkins, candles, serving platters, crackers, and twinkling lights. Cheese board, anyone?
Go gold this Christmas with these must-have bows and wrapping paper from the Wisdom & Wonder trend. Nothing says 'Merry Christmas' like a beautifully wrapped gift under the tree.
Trinkets & Treasures
From garlands to tree toppers, the Trinkets & Treasures trend is here to turn your living room into a cosy winter wonderland.
"This theme feels distinctively wholesome and is inspired by world travel, combining embroidery details and felt textures for a charming handcrafted element," says Lisa.
"Quilted placemats adorn the table alongside painted glassware, while the tree is dressed with papier mache baubles and recycled denim decorations."
John Lewis has everything you need to set your table for Christmas dinner. The Trinkets & Treasures trend is perfect for a traditional home, featuring everything from red linen table cloths to berry-printed crackers. Pop the fizz and enjoy.
