Tori Spelling Says 'Dig' Dean McDermott Made During Fight Was Her Last Straw: 'It's Something I Took Personal'
"It just like, escalated and he came in screaming," the actress recalled on the debut episode of her 'MisSPELLING' podcast
There was a pivotal moment between Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott that pushed her toward filing for divorce.
In the debut episode of her MisSPELLING podcast on Monday, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star recalled an argument the now-exes had where McDermott made a comment that struck a nerve for her. Though she didn't specify what her longtime spouse had said, it ultimately made her rethink her marriage to the 57-year-old Canadian actor.
"I'll never forget the night … We had just ordered Wendy’s and I’m not going to lie, I’m a big baked potato fan. Loaded baked potato. My mom taught me how to make them, I make them for everybody," Spelling, 50, began. "So I had just gotten my baked potato from Wendy’s and I was super psyched about it because I had a long work day. And I was like, 'Ooh.' And I made it to perfection. I was like, 'Oooh, this is a baked potato my mom would be proud of.'"

The actress continued, "And just as we made it, he came into the kitchen. Because it was a conversation — we had started fighting and I walked away, still passive-aggressively saying things, 'cause I’m passive-aggressive — trying to work on that. And he was like, 'What'd you say? What'd you say?' And I was like, 'Hmmm. Uh-huh, proceed — I said this!' And yeah… so it just like, escalated and he came in screaming."
Amid the escalation, Spelling said, "He made a remark that I don’t want to discuss."
"It's not even a terrible remark, it’s just a dig at something he knew would really be hurtful to hear," she explained. "I think it was just in the moment he made that dig. It's really nothing, but it's something I took personal."
Spelling then changed course, choosing to unveil what McDermott had said. But the episode abruptly concluded before the big reveal.
