If you love the thrill of hosting and curating the perfect menu, then you know the importance of striking a balance between tried-and-true recipes and new finds that get your guests talking. As always, Trader Joe’s has no shortage of barbecue-worthy summer offerings. From crowd-friendly snacks—such as Synergistically Seasoned Popcorn (my personal favorite, and yes, I’m excited it’s finally back!)—to cookout must-haves like Kansas City Style BBQ Sauce, there’s always a variety of products to suit all tastes.

Trader Joe’s is known for releasing seasonal items to keep the excitement going all year long, like the new yogurt-covered almonds. But what has certain shoppers most excited is the pickle-inspired lineup. And one find in particular: Dill Pickle Mustard. This tangy condiment has been a hit with customers for the last few years and is back just in time to top your fresh-off-the-grill hot dogs.

Trader Joe’s Dill Pickle Mustard Is Back

It’s not just for hot dogs and sandwiches, though. This versatile mashup can be used in recipes like egg salad and barbecue sauce in place of regular yellow mustard. Thanks to its acidity, it also makes a good marinade ingredient in recipes like pickle brine chicken and mustard chicken.

According to Trader Joe’s, their Dill Pickle Mustard is made from a yellow mustard base and seasoned with dry dill weed and chopped pieces of pickles. While actual pickle pieces rather than artificial flavoring give this mustard a true-to-name taste, customers did point out one minor concern.

“Yessss this mustard is sooo good, but they need to grind the pickle chunks up smaller, the hole always clogs!!” said one commenter on Instagram’s @trader_joes_treasure_hunt's in-store photo of the mustard. Even so, many were quick to chime in with excitement that the item was back in stock. “Finally!! I only bought 2 last year, that was a mistake,” noted another commenter.

A recent Reddit thread titled "Not a Drill, Dill Pickle Mustard is Back" had users talking about their favorite ways to enjoy the seasonal product. “Def good on turkey and pepper jack sandwiches,” said one commenter. Another replied, “A split top brioche bun (toasted on the sides), a Hebrew National, some finely diced white onion, and the dill pickle mustard. #dogofmydreams.”

While the comments were overwhelmingly positive, a few users were not impressed. “I love mustard, I love pickles, I thought this was g-ross,” said one Redditor.

We don’t know exactly how long Trader Joe's Dill Pickle Mustard will grace shelves, but we do know that it’s only for a limited time. So, if you’re a fan of this combo, you might want to grab an extra bottle before it’s too late.
