Dunkin' Dropped 5 New Drinks—Here's What To Try Megan Schaltegger

If you're working late (because you're a singer) or you're tone deaf (and just tired), we have good news: Dunkin' dropped an all-new winter menu—including Sabrina Carpenter's own Brown Sugar Shakin’ Espresso–to keep you fueled.

Rumors of the New Year menu began circulating in early December, and Dunkin' quietly rolled out five new beverages on December 31. Happy new year! In addition to the Carpenter's signature beverage, which dropped alongside the brand's ad campaign "Shake That Ess'," the menu includes a Lava Cake Signature Latte and Lava Cake Coffee. Plus, there's a Brown Sugar Oat Iced Matcha Latte and Raspberry Lava Cake Coffee available exclusively through the official Dunkin' app.

So...what can you expect of the new menu? And what should you try first? We tried them all and are telling all.

Sabrina Carpenter's Brown Sugar Shakin' Espresso

Sabrina's signature Dunkin' menu is hand-shaken behind the counter in an actual espresso shaker to create that perfect frothy sip. The beverage swirls together bold espresso flavor with creamy oat milk and just the right splash of brown sugar notes. It's not so overwhelming that you don't get to experience the rich espresso, but it builds out the flavor profile for a more well-rounded flavor.

"When we first dreamed up Sabrina’s Brown Sugar Shakin’ Espresso at Dunkin’, it had to be more than another delicious drink on the menu—we wanted to bring some levity to guests’ everyday coffee order," Chief Marketing Officer Jill McVicar Nelson said in a statement. "Working with one of America’s most beloved pop stars, Sabrina Carpenter, adds a spirited, fresh energy that perfectly aligns with Dunkin’s love of bold taste and good-natured fun. Through our new ad campaign, we’re showing guests that their new drink order can be both delicious and a wink at embracing life’s lighter side—exactly what Dunkin’ is all about."

Lava Cake Signature Latte

The Lava Cake Signature Latte is basically dessert for breakfast. It was inspired by molten chocolate cake, after all. Available hot or iced, the beverage features the perfect formula of espresso, whole milk, and chocolate lava cake swirl flavoring, which is rich, creamy, and decadent. It’s topped with whipped cream, mocha drizzle, and hot cocoa powder for an even sweeter experience.

As a boring black coffee drinker (who only occasionally treats herself to a latte), I found it a little overly sweet. However, I’d order it again when my sweet tooth kicks in—but maybe without the rich topping.

Lava Cake Coffee

Or, I'd just go with the classic Lava Cake Coffee. I tried it in the iced variety and was pleasantly surprised with the result. It has a similar feel as the signature latte (after all, it is inspired by the same dessert) but isn't quite as rich. If you're a fan of Dunkin's Original Blend coffee, you'll love this take with lava cake swirl and cream.

Raspberry Lava Cake Coffee

I had high expectations for the in-app exclusive Raspberry Lava Cake Coffee, however, it wasn't my favorite on the new menu. The beverage features the same original blend with a lava cake swirl, raspberry flavor shot, and cream. Ultimately, the raspberry just overpowered the coffee for me.

Brown Sugar Oat Iced Matcha Latte

Even though I loved the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, I wasn't confident about this version. I don't typically drink matcha and was unsure of how the flavors would blend together. However, it was a surprise favorite. The brown sugar notes swirl together perfectly with the matcha for a bold and delicious result. Dunkin' blends the matcha powder with the same brown sugar syrup as Carpenter's signature drink and adds oat milk.

Will you be trying any of these concoctions in the new year?
