I Tried Hailey Bieber's Erewhon Smoothie Ice Cream And I Have THOUGHTS
One of the biggest downsides of living in New York City, besides the rent, is not having an Erewhon nearby. I'm not sure I'd rely on the upmarket health-conscious grocery chain for everything on my shopping list. But I would love to treat myself to a $19 smoothie every now and then.
Celebrities regularly partner with Erewhon to launch their own signature smoothies, from Sofia Richie to Winnie Harlow to Bella Hadid. But none have reached the same level of hype as Hailey Bieber's Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie. Both Erewhon lovers and skeptics flocked to the store to get a taste of the celebrity-endorsed beverage.
The hype surrounding Hailey Bieber's Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie has been huge, peaking during the drama with Selena Gomez last year, and Erewhon eventually added the drink to their permanent menu. I've never had the chance to try it for myself, but ice cream brand Cosmic Bliss is now partnering with Bieber to release a frozen version of the viral smoothie.
The Strawberry Glaze Soft-Serve Sundae was first served at Erewhon locations in February, and 38,000 were sold in just one month. Now, Cosmic Bliss is expanding their partnership with Bieber to pack them in pints in the freezer aisle. It's made with coconut, vanilla, and strawberries—all certified organic. I got a pint sent over to the East Coast to see how it tasted.
As far as non-dairy ice cream goes, it's one of the creamiest I've tried. There's no icy, watery pockets that you can sometimes find with other brands. But since there's coconut milk, coconut cream, and coconut syrup in this recipe, you should expect to taste a lot of coconut here.
I personally love coconut milk, so I had no problem with it. My only wish was that there was more strawberry to balance out the prominent coconut flavor. That's easily remedied with a drizzle of strawberry sauce on top.
