Twitter users say this $442 dress looks like a bag of onions

The saying goes, “You get what you pay for.”

Well, when it comes to fashion, that isn’t always the case, and Twitter can vouch for that. The current garment in question is a $442 see-through slip dress from ASOS, which users say looks like a huge bag of onions.

Twitter user Jay Sharif was the first to point out the onion bag resemblance. “350 (pounds) for a dress that looks like onion bag sack,” he tweeted.

Current on sale for 40 per cent of its original price of $736, the couture-inspired lingerie dress by award-winning designer Elissa Poppy combines crimson-coloured mesh made with 100 per cent latex and features a sweetheart neckline. Yeah, you’re not paying for much much material. If that’s not enough, the product details suggest applying talcum powder for “ease of dressing” — to the dress or body? We don’t know, but it sounds like a lot of unnecessary work.

It’s fair to say the dress alone looks like a sack of onions, but we have to admit don’t necessarily hate how ASOS styled the dress with a T-shirt.
