Two Charlotte restaurants will expand to The Bowl at Ballantyne this summer

Following three restaurant openings in south Charlotte’s The Bowl at Ballantyne development, two more have announced summer debuts.

Bossy Beulah’s Chicken Shack and Rooster’s Wood Fired Kitchen will open in July and August, respectively, next to each other at 15110 Bowl St., Charlotte-based Noble Food & Pursuits said Tuesday in a news release.

Both restaurants are owned by Noble Food & Pursuits, which is owned by Jim Noble. Other restaurants owned by Noble are Copain, The Jimmy Pastaria and Pizzeria, The King’s Kitchen and Noble Smoke Barbecue.

The Bowl at Ballantyne is a 20-acre project featuring more than 90,000 square feet of retail, a second apartment tower and new roads with a “Main Street” feel.

In the last month, three other restaurants have opened at The Bowl: Phoenix-based Flower Child, followed by North Italia and The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery & Biergarten.

It’s all part of Northwood Investors LLC’s Ballantyne Reimagine mixed-use development that includes an amphitheater, greenway, retail and apartments.

Bossy Beulah’s at The Bowl

Bossy Beulah’s at Ballantyne will be the restaurant’s sixth location. The restaurant will have 2,775-square-foot indoor space with a 1,300-square-foot patio.

The counter-serve restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner. The menu includes is signature chicken with sides of potato salad, cucumber salad, slaw and fries. Also on the menu are salads topped with roasted chicken or Bossy Bites, soft ice cream, Copain Bakery cookies and hand pies.

The restaurant also offers catering for pickup and delivery and online ordering.

On opening day, Bossy’s will give a $50 gift card and swag for the first 100 guests. Five guests will receive free Beaut chicken sandwiches for a year.

Rooster’s Wood Fired Kitchen at The Bowl

Rooster’s Wood Fired Kitchen at Ballantyne will open its fourth location in a nearly 7,500 square foot space. The space includes seating for 270 people, a patio, private dining space and a semi-private dining space.

Rooster’s will be open for lunch and dinner, serving an a la carte menu of wood-fired proteins and seasonal vegetables from regional farms, according to Noble Food.

The store will open with new branding and interior design inspired by the outdoors.

“This presented an opportunity for us to make some updates,” Noble said. The first Rooster’s opened 14 years ago.

Several other restaurants and cafes opening at The Bowl at Ballantyne are:

Fly Kid Fly, a new coffee concept is from Charlotte-based HEX Coffee Roasters and Durban Hospitality.

Harriet’s Hamburger’s will open its third Charlotte location in stand-alone spot.

Hawkers Asian Street Fare, Pan-Asian concept will have two floors including a rooftop bar.

Honeysuckle Gelato, based in Atlanta, will open in an 808-square-foot space.

Postino WineCafe, based in Phoenix, will make its debut in late summer.

The Salty, Miami-based artisanal doughnut shop will open in the fall.

Nearby, Rochester, N.Y.-based grocery chain Wegmans also plans to open its first Charlotte store in 2026 on the east side of Ballantyne as part of the Reimagine Ballantyne development project.
