A Restored U.K. Townhouse on Bath’s Most Prized Street Lists for $6.2 Million
Bath, England, home to The Royal Crescent, is known for its distinctive architecture, with rows of Georgian terraced houses lining the streets. Now, one of the ancient spa town’s prized Georgian marvels is up for grabs.
The Grade I-listed townhouse is located along iconic Great Pulteney Street, one of the city’s most sought-after locations. At 1,000 feet long and 100 feet wide, it’s considered to be one of Bath’s grandest roads. The broad boulevard was originally commissioned by Sir William Pulteney, a 5th Baronet, and was designed by English architect Thomas Baldwin. Completed in 1792, the landmark road stretches from the Holburne Museum in Sydney Park to the Laura Place Fountain.

A First Look at The Ritz-Carlton Residences in West Palm Beach
On the market for a cool £4.8 million (or roughly $6.2 million), the palatial pad is arranged over six floors. Altogether, the 6,000-square-foot spread comprises four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The swanky abode has undergone extensive renovations over the years but still enjoys many of its original period details, such as high ceilings, stately sash windows, ornate plasterwork, and elaborate cornicing.
Upon entering, the main hall opens up to a formal dining room and a cozy library that doubles as a study. The first floor of the property also features two generously sized reception rooms, including a light-filled drawing room. Upstairs, the primary suite occupies the entire second floor and is decked out with an ensuite bathroom and dressing room. The rest of the sleeping quarters are located on the third level.
The lower ground floor currently holds a climate-controlled wine cellar and an open-plan kitchen equipped with flagstone flooring, bespoke cabinetry, and top-of-the-line appliances. From here, the kitchen leads to a landscaped rear garden with a patio, a gas fireplace, and tons of lush greenery. Most of the fun, however, can be had on the basement level. This floor is essentially an entertainer’s paradise, complete with a cinema room, a private gym, and a sauna.
“While many of the original townhouses have been converted over the years, 11 Great Pulteney Street is one of only a number of complete examples,” said Luke Brady, who’s marketing the property for Savills Bath. “With just under 6,000 square feet of accommodation over six floors and a detached coach house under construction, it is a magnificent home, immaculately restored by the current owners.”
