Vaquero developers to break ground on 500-home luxury golf community near Benbrook

Real estate development firm Discovery Land Co. announced plans for Maverick Golf and Ranch Club, a luxury residential community southwest of Fort Worth to be built on “1,100 acres of pristine land” offering “breathtaking views of rolling farmland and the Fort Worth skyline.”

The Maverick Golf and Ranch Club is a joint venture between Discovery Land Company and PMB Capital Investments. It marks the second Discovery Land Company development in the Fort Worth area, following the Vaquero Golf Club in Westlake.

The future community, off Aledo Road northwest of Lake Benbrook, is expected to have 500 homes and a variety of amenities, including 18-, 12-, and 9-hole golf courses designed by Tom Fazio, along with lakes, hiking trails and a sports complex. Maverick Golf and Ranch Club will also boast an organic farm that residents can use as a private garden, with a rotating selection of seasonal produce.

This will be the fourth Discovery Land Company community in Texas. In addition to Vaquero Golf Club, the company has developed the Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club and the Austin Surf Club, both in the Austin area.

Outside Texas, the real estate firm is responsible for luxury communities in the Bahamas; Cabo San Lucas and Los Cabos, Mexico; Hawaii; Las Vegas; and the Hamptons in New York.
