Victoria Beckham Favors Bold Shoulders in Gathered Dress for State Dinner at Buckingham Palace
Victoria Beckham modeled one of her own designs while attending a state dinner at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday in honor of the emir of Qatar. The fashion designer was accompanied by her husband, former soccer star David Beckham.
Victoria selected a black long-sleeve stretch jersey gown, which featured gathered fabric at the waist and exaggerated shoulders. She accessorized with a metallic clutch and dangle earrings, wearing her brunette tresses in a sleek ponytail.

David, meanwhile, sported a tuxedo and white bow tie, affixing his Order of the British Empire medal to his lapel. The athlete received the honorary award in 2003, when he was officially recognized by Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to sport.
The Beckhams have long been associated with the British royal family, attending the weddings of Kate Middleton and Prince William and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, respectively.
In June, David became an official ambassador for The King’s Foundation, a charity led by King Charles III. The organization supports a range of sectors, including architecture, education and agriculture.
On Monday, Victoria revealed her latest pre-fall collection, which was heavily inspired by Truman Capote’s socialite muses, who were also known as his “swans.”
“I wanted to celebrate the art of dressing with strong, considered silhouettes,” she told WWD.
This season has been busy for the former Spice Girl, who debuted a capsule collection with the luxury e-tailer Mytheresa late last month. She also rang in the 10th anniversary of her Mayfair boutique, unveiling holiday-themed decor curated by interior designer Rose Uniacke.
