Even though I've been a beauty editor since my mid-twenties, I somehow didn't get my first facial until I was in my thirties. And even then, it wasn't performed by any particularly famous skin specialist. Let's just say Harper Beckham, Victoria Beckham's daughter, does not have this in common with me. The seven-year-old spent the weekend getting some serious pampering, including a skin treatment by one of Europe's most celebrated beauty experts.
Victoria posted a quick video to her Instagram stories on Saturday, showing Harper lying on her back on a treatment table, her hair covered in a protective cap. We see Barbara Sturm gently wiping Harper's totally relaxed face with a white towel. "Baby facial with @drbarbarasturm," Victoria wrote over the video. "We MUST use CLEAN products on our children!!" However, she did not share what products were used during Harper's treatment.
Sturm's eponymous skin-care line, Dr. Barbara Sturm, is a favorite of celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Kim Kardashian West, Allure editor-in-chief Michelle Lee, and even other skin specialists. In addition to her products, she is best known for what performing what she calls "endogenous blood therapy" at her Düsseldorf clinic, "in which dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid are enriched with the body’s own regenerative and anti-inflammatory active agents" — aka the patient's own blood. There is no indication that Harper's treatment involved any blood or injectables.
In addition to her "baby facial," Harper also got a haircut by stylist Luke Hersheson, who told Victoria in an Instagram Stories video that he was doing a "chic little French bob." In a subsequent photo, Victoria writes, "She is going short!!" although she had already cut off quite a few inches back in August when she got a stacked style similar to the one her mother sported during her Spice Girls years.
Clearly, unlike me — unlike most of us — Harper will be a bonafide beauty expert before she even reaches double digits.
