The Viral Trader Joe’s Item That Sold Out in Minutes Is Finally Back in Two New Colors

Is it just us or are there always items from Trader Joe's that reach cult status and sell out almost instantly? While the brand has garnered a cult following on grocery items like miniature apple pie and creamy truffle dip, its non-food products prove time and time again to be just as popular. Whether it's a limited-edition cheese-inspired grocery bag or the coveted mini canvas totes, one thing is certain: TJ's knows how to keep fans coming back for more.
If you were able to snag one of Trader Joe’s mini insulated tote bags last year, count yourself lucky. While they originally retailed for $3.99, the price has skyrocketed on resale websites like Ebay and Mecari, where they sometimes sell for upwards of $250. Since the bags haven't been restocked since September, it seems fans are willing to drop whatever they can to get their hands on one of them.
Now, fans are scrambling once again after someone spotted the bags back on shelves—this time in two brand-new colors.
Trader Joe's Releases Mini Insulated Tote Bags in Pink and Lilac
It's February, also known as the month of love. Shades of pinks, purples, and reds are plastered everywhere so it’s kind of perfect that Trader Joe’s is releasing its viral mini insulated tote bags in pink and lavender.
In a post shared by Instagram's @traderjoesobsessed, fans are exchanging comments on which Trader Joe's locations already have the bags in stores. Some even expressed that their location set a limit on how many bags a customer can buy.
“In the Plainview, NY location they were letting people get five of EACH color. Absolutely wild,” one customer commented. Another shared that when they went to their local TJ's to grab one of these bags, the line was “ridiculous.”
“I wish resellers weren't the way they were,” another fan wrote. “People legit have their whole families with them [in stores] so they can get more than what they need. Leave some for us people who are just obsessed with cute bags!”
