The Philips SmartSleep Wake-Up light therapy alarm clock uses light and sound to wake you up. It is not like that terrifying iPhone alarm clock noise that will make you jump out of your bed and run to turn it off. The clock’s light is inspired by the sunrise's naturally brightening light, and it gradually increases in brightness over a 30-minute period before your set wake-up time. It grows with more light until your room is filled with a bright yellow light when it’s time to wake up.

This alarm clock is perfect for those who find it hard to get up in the morning because it lets you wake up easily and naturally. Just set the time you want to wake up at before you go to sleep and let the gentle sunrise from the lock ease you into your day. The light will come on 30 minutes before your set wake up time but at a very gentle pace.

Once your clock has reached its full brightness level, it will play one of five nature sounds of your choosing to wake you up. It also has the option to wake up to FM radio instead of the sounds. If you’re feeling too tired to wake up, gently tap the Wake-Up Light anywhere, and it will set the snooze mode for you for nine minutes.
