Walmart’s New Year’s Day Hours Will Surprise You
Ready for a fresh start? New Year’s Day is right around the corner, and believe it or not, we’ll soon be ringing in 2025. (This year really flew by!) I love the promise a new year brings — new opportunities, new goals to achieve, and new resolutions to make (that I likely will abandon a few months in but a girl can dream).
My family typically ushers in the New Year with a bowl full of black-eyed peas, collard greens, and skillet cornbread, a Southern tradition meant to bring good luck and fortune. So if you need to run to the store to grab the ingredients to make the meal or anything else to start the year off right, you might be wondering if your favorite store is open for the holiday.
Well, if Walmart is your go-to store, you’re in luck. All Walmart stores will be open with normal business hours on both New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1) and New Year’s Eve (Tuesday, December 31) as confirmed by a store representative.
If you’re hosting a party with family and friends on New Year’s Eve, we’ve got some recipe inspiration that’ll have people talking about your spread for years to come. Wait for the clock to strike midnight with this slow cooker mulled cider. Not only does it taste delicious and will keep you warm and cozy, but it’ll also make your house smell of orange, apple, ginger, cinnamon, and clove. Plus, it’s non-alcoholic so it’s perfect for both kids and adults (just spike it if you want it a little boozy).
You also can’t go wrong with this show-stopping winter citrus sangria made with white wine, vodka, freshly-squeezed orange juice, and Triple Sec. Sliced citrus, cinnamon sticks, and fresh rosemary make it look just as divine as it is flavorful.
And for the main meal, try out our coziest comfort food recipes for a fabulous night in. (Cheesy skillet chicken Parmesan meatballs and slow cooker chocolate lava cake? Count us in.) The best part is they make great leftovers the following day.
