Watch Cynthia Erivo’s Angelic Performance Of ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ At The 2025 Grammy Awards
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo lit up the stage at the 67th annual Grammy Awards last night, where she performed a stunning tribute to Quincy Jones during the ceremony. Accompanied by Herbie Hancock, Erivo sang 'Fly Me to the Moon,' which Jones arranged for Frank Sinatra and Count Basie in 1964, with her signature unreal vocals, stunning the crowd with her high notes, riffs, and crystal-clear tone. Beyoncé was seen dancing along in the audience.

The stars were just some of many celebrities singing throughout the show, including Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, and Stevie Wonder. Erivo herself is a Grammy winner, having taken home an award in 2017 for The Colour Purple cast album.

In January, Erivo was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in Wicked, bringing her very close to EGOT status. It was her third Oscar nomination, having received two for 2019’s Harriet, one in the Best Actress category and one for Best Original Song for the film’s track 'Stand Up.'
In addition to her Grammy, Erivo has received a Tony award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Celie in the Broadway production of The Colour Purple and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program, along with the cast of The Colour Purple. The Oscar would complete the EGOT.
In response to her Academy Award nomination this year, Erivo shared an emotional Instagram post in which she is wiping away tears.
'Moments like this don’t come along very often, and when they do, it is sacrilege to let them pass by without a moment of gratitude,' she wrote in the caption. 'I am grateful, grateful to @theacademy, grateful to be a part of something that makes people feel seen, grateful to be a cog in the wheel of a piece that makes us believe in magic, grateful to have experienced a dream come true, and deeply deeply grateful for this unbelievable recognition.'
Erivo continued, 'I often get asked what I would say to my younger self. Well today there’s nothing to be said. She is smiling, beaming, glowing from ear to ear. That speaks volume...To my sister, @arianagrande, what a joy it is to be here with you watching as you ascend and amaze and become the actress you were meant to be. Congratulations first time nominee, I’m so so proud of you!! There is no one in the world I would have wanted to do this with more than you.'
