Wendy’s Just Unveiled Its Frosty Fusions and Swirls — and Yes, There Are Pop-Tarts Involved

Wendy's is once again introducing new ways for Frosty fans to enjoy their favorite fast-food dessert.

This week, the chain dropped new information on when customers can finally get their hands on the Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions, along with what sauces and mix-ins they can add to create a bespoke dessert experience.

According to the announcement, fans can soon try the Strawberry Frosty Swirl, which features "sweet, juicy strawberry sauce swirled and topped on a creamy Frosty," or the Caramel Frosty Swirl, which, it says, is an even "sweeter treat that tastes like a cold, creamy candy bar." Lastly, there's the Brownie Batter Frosty Swirl, a "chocolatey Frosty treat of any fan's dreams."

And now, customers can also add both sauce and mix-ins to their frozen dessert with the new Frosty Fusions. That includes the Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion, marking the "first time this snacking staple is officially offered as a mix-in for a frozen dessert." The drink consists of a Wendy's Frosty base, that sweet strawberry sauce, and chunks of strawberry-flavored Pop-Tarts Crunchy Poppers pieces.

There's also the Oreo Brownie Frosty Fusion, made with a Frosty base that comes with swirls of Brownie Batter sauce mixed with crunchy Oreo cookie pieces. Finally, there's the Caramel Crunch Frosty Fusion, which blends a Frosty with crunchy toffee pieces and a sweet caramel sauce.

"Frosty has been on Wendy's menu for 55 years and is one of the most iconic frozen treats in American culture. We're expanding on our beloved Frosty so when a sweet tooth strikes, the choice is easy for consumers: It's Gotta Be Wendy's," Lindsay Radkoski, the U.S. chief marketing officer for The Wendy's Company, shared in a statement. "We know consumers are always on the lookout for new flavors and ways to customize their order with sauces and mix-ins. We can't wait for everyone to experience even more ways to enjoy our iconic Frosty!"

Fans can get their hands on the Frosty Fusions when they launch nationwide on May 12. However, the Frosty Swirls land even earlier. Wendy's customers can try the Swirls starting April 11 exclusively through the Wendy's app before they roll out nationwide on April 15.

And when you do order this updated treat, take note that it comes in an updated cup, too. "All Frosty treats will be served in a newly designed cup with a domed lid, perfect for dipping a Hot & Crispy Fry," the brand said, proving once again that it knows what its fanbase really loves. For those who choose to use spoons instead of fries to enjoy their Frosty, Wendy's is rolling out a custom blue Frosty spoon that's designed to ensure you get every last drop from the bottom of the cup.
