Whatcom Roundup: New brewery opening; salon coming to Bellingham; restaurant anniversary

Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:

New brewery opening ‘any day now’

District Brewing, a brewery and restaurant with locations in Mount Vernon and Ferndale is planning to open its newest location in Lynden, “any day now,” according to a Facebook post.

The restaurant will serve pizza, wings, salads and appetizers. It will be located at 6918 Hannegan Road, Suite 103, in Lynden.

New salon coming to Bellingham

A new salon is planned to open in Bellingham. Ardor Salon filed a permit with the city of Bellingham for a new salon at 1125 Finnegan Way #102, in the same building as the Corner Taphouse.

The permit had not been approved as of April 12.

Jalapeños celebrates 25th anniversary

Jalapeños, a local Mexican restaurant with four Bellingham locations is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Monday, April 22. Each local restaurant will have a special discounted menu with items priced like they were in the 2000’s, according to a post about the deal on Facebook. Happy hour will run from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to close. The restaurants will also hold a raffle for gift cards and other prizes.

Each location is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m Friday and Saturday. Jalapeños is at 2945 Newmarket Pl., 501 W. Holly St., 1007 Harris Ave. and 4451 Meridian St.
