Whatcom Roundup: New brewery and restaurant coming to Bellingham; bakery opening in mall

Blaine Brewery coming to Bellingham

Blaine-based brewery Beach Cat Brewing has filed a building permit with the city of Bellingham for a new location at 1010 C St. Suite 107, near Bellingham’s waterfront.

The permit for a new brewery was submitted Oct. 28 and had not been approved as of Nov. 1.

Bakery opening in Bellis Fair

Roman Artisan Bake, a bakery currently operating out of a kiosk inside the Bellis Fair mall, has announced it will be opening soon at a permanent location inside the mall’s food court. Ed Roman, the bakery’s owner, says the food court spot is planned to open in 2-3 weeks. No official opening date has been announced yet. Bellis Fair mall is at 1 Bellis Fair Parkway in Bellingham.

New Indian restaurant coming to Bellingham

Namaste The Royal Taste of India, a restaurant in Blaine, may be opening a new location in Bellingham, according to a liquor license application submitted Oct. 28 for a beer and wine restaurant license at 1213 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham, the previous location of Sage Against the Machine restaurant. The Bellingham Herald reached out to Namaste but did not receive a response as of Nov. 7.
