Whatcom Roundup: Three new Bellingham businesses open; Chick-Fil-A update; local events
Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:
New sweet shop in Fairhaven
Sweet Haven Dessert Universe, a sweets shop and bakery has opened in Fairhaven. The new shop is at the previous location of Sweet Bellingham, and serves a variety of cookies, pies, espresso, pastries and cakes.
Operating hours have not been posted, but the shop is at 1005 Harris Ave. in Bellingham.
Chain boba tea shop opens
ShareTea, an international boba tea chain restaurant, has opened a new location in Bellingham.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of brewed, milk and fruit teas, as well as other drinks.
ShareTea is open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 322 36th St.
New bottle shop opens
Bloomhaven Bottle Shop, “Bellingham’s first and only non-alcoholic bottle shop,” opened Saturday, Sept. 15.
The business was launched by Molly Flynn, who helped finance her business venture through a GoFundMe campaign, according to an Instagram post in June 2024.
The shop has a collection of non-alcoholic spirits, beer and wine curated by Flynn.
Bloomhaven is open from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at 1201 11th St., Suite 101.
Bellingham Chick-Fil-A update
Bellingham’s Chick-Fil-A is making steady progress, according to recent documents from the city of Bellingham.
On Sept. 6, the city officially approved of all Chick-Fil-A’s proposed plans that were filed in a consolidated permit application.
The new restaurant will be at 4030 Cordata Parkway in Bellingham. No opening date has been announced.
