Since first launching back in November 2020, getting your hands on a PlayStation 5 has been a challenge for many video game enthusiasts.
Luckily, this year it's going to be easier to buy of the highly-coveted gaming consoles — at least according to Sony, the maker of the PlayStation.
"We had supply challenges just like every other consumer product out there that uses the same chips that we use, and we couldn't get a PlayStation 5 to everybody that wanted one," Eric Lempel, SVP of global marketing, sales, and business operations for Sony Interactive Entertainment, told Yahoo Finance. "But this is the first full year where we can do that."

The increase in stock comes at the perfect time, as the 2023 holiday season quickly approaches and Sony debuted the highly anticipated "Marvel’s Spider-Man 2" game on Oct. 20.

Best places to buy a PlayStation 5 and games in Canada
1. Best Buy Canada
Best Buy Canada has several options available when it comes to the PS5, including consoles and bundles, games, accessories and headsets.
Why buy at Best Buy Canada? Shoppers can enjoy free in-store pickup or free shipping on orders over $35 from Best Buy's online store. For added insurance, customers can supplement their order with Best Buy Protection, which goes above and beyond the manufacturer’s warranty for up to three years.
What's Best Buy's return policy? Since we're approaching the holiday season, shoppers can take advantage of an extended return window and enjoy hassle-free returns or exchanges on this item until Jan. 11, 2024.

2. The Source
Like its competitors, The Source stocks a range of PS5 consoles, games and accessories, including some that offer a bundle deal. However, to snag a PlayStation 5 on its own, you'll need to be able to pick it up from your local store as they are out of stock online.
Why buy at The Source? The Source offers free standard shipping on orders over $50, as well as free shipping to stores in 2-3 days. You can also get monthly financing from Affirm to shop now and pay later.
What's The Source's return policy? According to the site, shoppers can exchange/return their order within 30 days from the date of purchase with the original receipt, depending on the type of product and the condition of its return.

3. Amazon Canada
While there are a few models to choose from, right now shoppers will only find the PlayStation 5 Console – Spider-Man 2 Bundle in stock at Amazon Canada. This bundle includes the console, game controller and a digital voucher for the newest Spider-Man game for $730.
Why buy on Amazon? Thanks to their speedy Prime delivery, Amazon customers can get their hands on a new PS5 in as little as one day if you have a Prime membership (sign up for one here if you aren't already a member).
What's Amazon's return policy? According to Amazon, "this item can be returned in its original condition for a full refund or replacement within 30 days of receipt."

4. Walmart Canada
Along with grocery delivery and household essentials, Walmart Canada has all the tech you're looking for — including a PS5. However, it's worth noting that like Amazon, currently you can only score a PlayStation 5 bundled with "Marvel’s Spider-Man 2" for $730.
Why buy at Walmart? If you'd rather not purchase a Spider-Man bundle, Walmart Canada also offers the option to purchase a PlayStation console from third-party sellers.
Walmart customers can select in-store pick-up or free delivery, and shoppers can choose to pay over time in instalments using a Walmart MasterCard or Klarna plan.
What's Walmart's return policy? While most items have a 90-day return window, electronics purchased via Walmart and via third-party sellers must be returned within 14 days.

5. GameStop
You'll have to live near a GameStop location to get your hands on a new PS5, as the retailer doesn't currently offer delivery on the in-demand gaming console. Instead, you'll have to place your order online and pick it up in-store.
Why buy at GameStop? At GameStop, shoppers will find several exclusive PlayStation 5 bundles — but you'll have to act quickly as they are known to sell out fast.
What's GameStop's return policy? Like Best Buy Canada, GameStop has extend their return policy during the holidays. Anything you buy after Nov. 1st can be returned or exchanged until Jan. 15, 2024.
