Now that summer has arrived and governments are slowly easing restrictions that were put in place at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s finally time to get outside and enjoy the season.

While there still won’t be any large family reunions or get-togethers, it’s now perfectly safe to enjoy an evening outdoors with a few loved ones. If you’re planning to host your own barbecue or al fresco dinner party this summer, you should spend as much time as possible enjoying your event and as little time as possible having to plan it.

By now it’s well-known that grocery delivery services can cut down on time spent waiting in lines at stores, but did you know that it’s also possible to have your favourite beer or wine delivered to your home as well?

We did some digging to find out where to shop if you’re looking for the ultimate in convenience this season, and rounded up eight of the best ways that you can have alcohol delivered in Ontario.

LCBO

Ontario’s largest source for beer, wine and spirits is available to shop online, but be warned that Canada Post is no longer delivering directly to your front door in an effort to minimize face to face contact for their employees. Instead, deliveries will be shipped to your nearest Canada Post office, and you’ll be notified when they are ready for pickup.

Molson

In honour of celebrating the very best that Canada has to offer, this summer Molson is offering beer-drinkers the Most Canadian Case Ever. Each case of 24 tallboys includes a selection of locally-brewed beer, and is available for individuals in the Toronto area to shop, as well as those in Vancouver, Saskatoon and Regina.

The Wine Rack

With 164 boutiques conveniently located across Ontario, The Wine Rack offers a huge selection of your favourite vintages. Shipping is free on orders of six bottles or more, so you can get your fill of reds, whites and rosés sent straight to your home.

Instacart

If any of the grocery stores near you offer beer and wine sales, you can easily add them to your grocery delivery with Instacart. Shop online or download the app, and simply add your desired items to cart - you’ll be relaxing with a cool drink in no time.

The Beer Guy

Don’t let the name fool you - The Beer Guy also offers a selection of wine and liquor to many cities across the province. Just place your order online and choose from a selection of products that are available near you to receive your delivery within two hours.

Breweries, Wineries and Distilleries

A quick search online will reveal your local breweries, wineries, and distilleries - many of which are offering their own pickup and delivery services directly through their own websites. Not only is this a great way to try out a new product, you’re also supporting your local economy and sending proceeds directly to small businesses.

UberEats/Doordash

It doesn’t get much easier than ordering takeout, and food delivery is be another way to enjoy a drink with your meal. The Ontario government recently ruled that restaurants are now allowed to sell alcoholic beverages alongside food through delivery, so all you need to do is pick your favourite takeout dish and wait for it to arrive.

Home Delivery Canada
